This restaurant is very famous for it’s Bak Kut Teh in Selayang, Batu Caves near Kepong but I am not here to eat the Bak Kut Teh for obvious reason, I am from Klang.
Claypot Curry Fish Head is one of the many popular dishes in Grandpa’s restaurant. Wow! tasted really hot and spicy full of aroma that really goes well with a plate of plain rice.
In addition we had the Pork Leg Stew which was recommended by the waitress. The meat was tender and juicy.
Pepper Soup with Pork Stomach which was very fiery.
Generally the food was pretty good and I am sure the Bak Kut Teh was good too although we did not order it but I managed to ask for a bowl of Bak Kut Teh broth just to indulge my curiosity and the taste was not too bad actually.

Ah Yee Curry Mee, or 阿姨咖喱面 is located along Jalan Kepong Baru opposite a surau in Taman Kepong, the street surrounded by many other Chinese street food which are famous too.
Chee Cheong Fun is the highlighted here, and of course it is popular with a reason. What makes Ah Yee Curry Mee Chee Cheong Fun noteworthy would probably be the flat rice noodles itself which is smooth, with more chews. It is freshly prepared by a noodle factory using owner’s special recipe, only for Ah Yee Curry Mee stall.
The Curry Kueh Teow is equally good with lots of ingredients and almost raw cockles.
They are very generous with the curry broth because this are the 2 dishes that are most popular with the customers. Tasted really good especially the Curry Chee Cheong Fun.

Bak Kut Teh with Lala
Klangites are normally for the original taste of Bak Kut Teh and to add seafood into the already famous dish by itself only a handful can appreciate it. So it’s really an acquired taste.
Butter Deep Fried Tilapia with Shredded Pickle Cucumber and Onions
Lai Sar Ng(in Hakka language) is made famous in Kajang by the Hakkas and now in Klang too. No words can describe the uniqueness of this dish but once you take a bite in your mouth you will never stop eating until all is gone. That’s how good it is!

The mouth watering menu makes us want to order more dishes but for now we stuck to my 2 favorite dish seafood Kak Kut Teh and Lai Sar Ng.

What makes the meal here utterly delicious is the thick blended ginger that is almost like a paste mixed with chopped spring onions and also the chilly sauce to go with the poached chicken. Heavenly combination.

Pangkor Fried Fish
This house specialty of the deep fried fish is actually the Cencaru fish stuffed with generous amount of sambal belacan. I am a big fan for ‘kampung’ fish, it is a must eat if you are here. Fortunately for us you managed to secure the last piece for the day.

Biggest Chicken Curry Bun in Malaysia
A soft and buttery bun, bigger than palm size and when cut open it’s like a flower shape.
It’s was only 3 of us so we could not order 2 buns and the best we can do was to order the “Ying Yong” which consist of a sumptuous harmony of half Curry Pork Ribs and half “Dong Po” Pork. Both are equally delicious and the curry gravy was thick enough for bread to dip in. We will try the chicken version on our next trip there.
Besides the buns they also serve lots seafood and their most popular one is the ‘Dragon Tiger Seafood Pot’ or also referred as ‘Dragon and Tiger Reunion’ to some. This extraordinary looking dish is a combination of milky and mild curry soup, fused with generous servings of fresh seafood such as a whole crab, prawns, clams, fish slices and meat balls. The dish is comes in boiling claypot along with a plate of rice vermicelli that would soak up the flavor of the soup better compared to rice. Our next trip there we will be ordering this dish.

Tabata interval tennis workout to stay fit for tennis.
We started off with warm up exercises before stretching because stretching with “cold” muscles can lead to injury.
After raising the temperature of our body and muscles we can now safely begin the very high intensity exercises with short period of rest in between exercises.
Finally we finished off with cooling down Yoga stretches.
