Seafood – Restaurant Sri Choon Keng Seafood

Claypot Seafood Curry Mee

Mee Hoon Kueh

Fried Pork Ribs with Yam

Sri Choon Keng is one of the oldest operating restaurant left in Pandamaran. Had been operating for 32 years since 1978. It become famous as this restaurant is visited by Prime Minister of Malaysia during the Chinese New Year national level open house in Pandamaran back in year 2009.

Been to this restaurant many times already and I like their claypot curry seafood noodles & mee hoon kueh. Another favorite of mine is the fried pork ribs with yam. As usual they also serve most of the common seafood dishes.

Bak Kut Teh – Ah Her Bak Kut Teh

They come in small bowls of different parts of the pig. From ribs to pork belly to intestines and other parts. You have to order them separately and one bowl is about one person’s portion.

As you can see, this version of Bak Kut Teh does not come with a lot of soup and no, you can’t add soup and here’s why. These moist, juicy, flavourful pieces of pork are braised in these thick herbal liquid that is impossible for you to request for more. They are not your typical extra soupy Bak Kut Teh that you can get around Klang.

One of the best in Pandamaran.

Curry Fish in Claypot – Lam Ju Bak Restaurant

Wooden house cum restaurant during the night. Apparently this place is famous for their claypot fish curry. Pretty good actually and taste like the one my mother cooks for the family at home. They also have other dishes as well like the deep fry butter mantis prawn that we ordered.

Mee Hoon Kueh – Home Cooking Style

In daytime it’s a home for the owners and when night falls, kitchen, tables and chairs are all set in front of the wooden house for dining business to begin. Their signature dish is the mee hoon kueh that comes in 3 sizes small, medium and large depending on the number of people eating. This is different from the rest because it comes with bit and pieces of fried eggs. Quite good actually. Besides the mee hoon kueh they also serves a variety of fried noodles and bites.

Hong Bak – 158 Hong Ba

Morning and evening sessions are operated separately by 2 different siblings.Hong ba is more like braised pork with thick herbal gravy. The pork is absolutely tender and super savory, braised eggs and tofu is served together with the fatty pork that melts in your mouth. We ordered ours with innards and pork tendons. Looks stunning. We complimented our meal with a bowl of pepper soup.

Yam Rice – Pandamaran Yam Rice

They have a variety of selection like pork, port stomach, intestine, tauhu and egg.  They also have pork mixed soup for you to go with the rice.  The best seller is yam rice and they do have vegetable rice (green mustard vege) and long bean rice.
They are very generous on the portion and the price is really reasonable. For those who like sambal, you must try their sambal. add some into your rice. Awesome”
